BBQ with colleagues

Today, 16 Sept'06, i had a bbq with my colleagues from the SA dept and 2 pple from the job dept...

At first, i was quite unsure if i should actually still go.. cos my relationship with HER is still on the tricky side... i mean..all these things take time to recover.. and of cos the familiarity has to come back slowly... better commnication ways... so tough... but i think i have tried my best.. the last CCC meeting with her was so awkward... and i really mean awkward... cannot even talk... so tough.. it was all quiet till we started to talk abt my weird mentee... that's how we got the ball rolling... i realise, today, i cannot talk to her alone yet.. need to have other people around.. cos its still a bit strange.. if you know what i mean...

These few days, it has been raining nonstop and although we all hoped for the best weather... it still rained cats and dogs.. we were lucky that we had a tentage which was not taken down yet in front of our pit.. Thus, we had shelter,, BUT my poor shoes got SOOOOO wet.... my fav pair.. brown and orange sneakers... so SAD... had to wash it when i reached home... no CHOICE lah.. so suay...

Luckily, the rain only lasted abt an hour or so.. AND we started bbqing at abt 6pm.... and i was the one who did started the first with the help of a colleague... and hey, i was lucky! heehee managed to get the fire going... heehee.. so proud of myself.. although not first time starting a fire.. it felt good cos no one else around knows how to start the fire... heeheee =P so not bad for a day's work..

My colleagues so cute, kept asking me to take a seat, rest and eat the food too.. but i was not hungry.. and i really like to mand the fire.. seeing it grow... making sure the heat is distributed was quite fun.... some food were burnt... chicken wing took ages to cook cos the stupid pit's wire was too high away from the fire... LOUSY!! next time, must remember, go to Pasir Ris PArk to BBQ, MUST remember that it will be hard to cook food using the pit they have.. you have to have a very strong fire in order to cook anything.... in the end, i had to raise up the heated charcoal nearer to the food in order to cook them... terrible right??

think i have some small burns here and there.. oh well, all in a day's work... heehee =)
